Ribbon with Plugins

I read about application modes and contextual tabs but all these are predefined templates and compiled into the same ribbon. What I wonder is if I can have a dynamically loaded dll that has it's own contextual tab definition and combining it with the main ribbon? I haven't checked this but I assume that Office can do this using add-ins.

As far as I know you cannot do this…. Office doesn’t use the Windows Ribbon Framework, but rather its own one.
